Capital Business Centre is a recently refurbished business park based in the North West, they have five large buildings over a landscaped site, currently owned by property investors Knight Frank. During 2014 a significant refurbishment to the site took place to improve the buildings, the landscaping and the security. It was the job of property letting and management agents Savills, to source the right security provider, which was where VVSEC came in to design a bespoke, high end security solution.
Following the brief from Savills; VVSEC found that Capital Business Centre was in need of an integrated security solution, which was capable and intelligent enough to replace the current manned guarding solution. Due to the site being in use 24/7, the system needed to be flexible in its configuration and adapt to the “always on” approach. The previous manned guard solution was costly and needed to be modernised, to ensure the best security possible.
The key to the successful implementation of this system was down to the project planning that was undertaken. VVSEC worked closely together with the team at Savills and scoped out the exact requirements and a bespoke security solution was designed by our specialised in house team. It incorporated remotely controlled CCTV, access control, automatic vehicle barriers to control entrance to and from the site and an IP based intercom system.
Due to high activity within the site, an intelligent programmable means of detection was required. As an Optex partner, VVSEC chose to use the Redscan laser detector as its configurable zones made it very easy to deploy. The Redscans were integrated with the vehicle barrier and the IP based intercom system so that alarms were not triggered when an authorised person entered the site. The Redscans were also integrated directly with the Avigilon Video Management system; this uses dome cameras to track any detected intruder and sends an emergency alarm notification to the monitoring station that respond to any alarms.
As security systems integrators, VVSEC made sure they selected the products and services that would best suit the bespoke needs of the Capital Business Centre site.
